Hayden Needs to Fire Her Translator or Spell Checker

Hayden may be enjoying life with no laments, but I'm wondering if she's beginning to rue her tattoo? Seems the cursive script is meant to read "live without regrets" in Italian but, as HuffPo points out, instead of "Vivere senza rimpianti," closer inspection proves it reads "Vivere senza rimipianti" with an extra "i."

All of you planning to ink up, let her be a lesson to you: it's permanent, and the one with the gun needs to be on board with the proper spelling. (See also: Chi-Tonw tattoos). Guess she couldn't see her back while it was happening, but imagine how angry I'd be with "I love Robert Pattenson" on my arm! Not that I'm planning on it . . .

Isn´t she like supposed to be Italian? Shouldn´t she know this shit? Anyhow, as several have mentioned before, the tattoo artist begins by "stamping" the design on your skin in reglular ink, gets your approval on it, and then he starts with the needle and the permanent ink, not before, so it couldn´t have been the tatto artist´s fault...dumb Hollywood starlet...

Ooh, that is ironic! It's a lovely sentiment, though. But oy vey! (Reminds me of this one episode of My Wife and Kids that I saw a few years ago... "Do you speak Chinese? Do you read Chinese? Then how do you know that [tattoo] doesn't say 'spicy tuna roll'?!?") Not crazy about the placement, either.

nygruyl I agree with you, I have been debating for years whether getting a tattoo or not, but things like this and the fact that is FOREVER make my think twice about it. In Hayden's case is pretty embarrassing because she is suppose to be Italian, it makes her look bad.

Absolutely not the sexiest of tats I've seen in my lifetme...and you'll have people turning sideways to read your tat. Should have given that one more thought Panettiere!

if i were to get a tat i would make sure i have it spelled right and i would have the artist spell it out a few times just to make sure they have it right. also like RockandRepu said they first draw it on you to make sure you approve, they don't just start.

Only dumba$$es don't double check something that will be on your body forever. Are you kidding? Before the artist starts drawing on you, they put a sticker imprint on your skin of what you want(presumably when you bring it in or when you look through their books). They don't just go nuts with the needle.

agree, retrodoll - i'm sure she'll regret the tattoo. misspelling and all. see, this is one of the reasons why i've never been able to go through with getting one. i've thought about it for years but mishaps like this makes me chicken out every time!

pink peony I have a similar tattoo, in latin it says Love Conquers All. I would like to point out that tattoo artists have made mistake before so it might not just have been her fault. Also it IS important to double check things. I have japanese kanji on me and I double checked quite a few different sources to be sure I knew what I was getting. Never just trust the tattoo parlors books.

That's silly, but I guess it happens. When I had my Latin phrase tattooed I double checked myself, no way that I would trust a stranger with a needle gun in his hands ...It reads "amor est vitae essentia", love is the essence of life.
