i do that all the time i ever knew it was called dutch but my philo teacher said before "you call it what ever you want its still a braids" but its nice to no a certain name. :->

Ha, I've always done these...whenever I French Braid my own hair, it turns out "inside out" like this. I just always figured it was a mistake, lol.

I never knew that there was another direction to braid until I met my mom's friend. She actually does the whole "inside out" braid on her horses because it holds better than traditional braiding direction

I've done this myself accidentally when I'm in a rush to get my hair out of my face at home, never really checked how it looked. I think I'll give it another try with purpose! Thanks for the How-to, it's very pretty!
