How to Create a Piecey Ponytail
Get Kate Hudson's Piecey Ponytail

Kate Hudson makes even a simple hairstyle look like a million-dollar affair. Last night at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, Kate styled her signature waves into a low ponytail that combined the sleek with the tousled.
To get her contrasting textures, curl the entire head, leaving the ends straight. Next, apply a low-hold cream or hair spray to hands and gather the hair into a ponytail at the nape. After smoothing the sides down, lightly tug at the hairline with your fingers to create lift. Rake through the waves once or twice to position your strands as you like, but keep manipulation to a minimum so that individual waves stay intact. Finally, wrap a small section of hair around the ponytail holder and fasten with bobby pins. Finish the look with a shimmering shadow, fully rimmed eyes, and a touch of gloss, just like Kate.
