How to Do a Two-Toned Manicure
Mimic Busy Philipps's Two-Toned Manicure at Home
by Maria Del Russo 0

Busy Philipps got in on the wildly popular two-toned nail trend at her charity auction last night, and she did it well. Sporting a gold bead-embellished turquoise and black manicure, Busy's nails had just enough spunk without being over-the-top. And the look is not too difficult to pull off at home, either. Just grab two opaque polish colors, a steady hand, and some painter's tape.
Paint two coats of the color you want to appear more dominant on your nail and let it dry completely. Next, lay down a strip of painter's tape to the top or side of your nail and paint two coats of the second color on the nontaped portion. Once the polish is dry to the touch, gently peel the tape off to reveal your straight-edged finish. Swipe on a top coat and add some embellishments, and you'll be sitting pretty like Busy. Now if only you could finger a gorgeous ring like that to match . . .
