I always have a french manicure because I'm obsessed with clean nails. Don't get me wrong I still clean my nails but there's a certain clean look about the french that I love.

If done well, they look classy and certainly never ruin an overall classy look. I still think they're a little too easy to do badly though. Or wear badly.

I do not think they are only tacky on toes. I think they are tacky everywhere... Why not play with fun colors on your nails (toe and otherwise)? It can change a whole outfit and bring something new and sophisticated to your whole look. Though, the nail color should never be chipped and never look run down.

Oh and as for fake nails, I think they look alright if they're kept to the natural off-white shade of the added tip. Otherwise, no.

I had mine done for my friend's wedding, and I was in love with them. It stayed for over a week without chipping, and it made me start to look for the equipment to do it like they did in the salon. They put on the white and then used a large flat brush dipped in a liquid (I'm assuming np remover?) to define it. Anyone know where to find that stuff?

I love it on fingernails that are not long & not fake ones. I hate it on the toenails, long or short. (My sister thinks hers are fine, because she keeps the nail short & the line thin.....still yucky!)

i loooooooove them, they make me feel so classy and feminine when i have them! i wish i could afford to have one all the time, i can't do them myself, my hand isn't steady enough by faaar. i feel so dainty with them, haha. they are one of my favorite things!

When they are thin like the pic... I love them. But when they are long fake nails and the white is so bright I hate it. And it all depends on the person.
