How Do You Spend Salon Time?

A "quick trip" to the salon can take what feels like an eternity, especially if your stylist sees clients back-to-back or is double booked. Patience isn't exactly my best virtue, but salon time can be a great opportunity to sit back and not worry about all the things I could or should be doing. Even with the fun magazines I don't get at home, I'd be lying if I said I've never blogged while under the dryer. How do you most often spend your time in the stylist's chair?

My stylist is young and "hip" so we get a long really well and usually chat. If we're not chatting, I'm reading.

Def. time to read my magazines mostly and chat to catch up with my hairdresser of 15years. She is like my second mom - she's great. I am goin there this afternoon as a matter of fact :)

I just talk with her, but I only get my hair cut and styled I don't do anything else so it's 40 min max, usually closer to 30 min. Plus I'm always her last of the day so it's not like she's running around trying to get someone else in.

ummmm i mean i usually text but i feel like it's rude to do. However I would love to utilize the time it takes for my hair to get colored. I would love to know what proper salon etiquite is.

I would say read/text but i can't see at all without my glasses...and I can't wear my glasses when i'm getting my hair done... so i just sit and think to myself and listen to everyones annoying conversations....

I usually just read magazines and text or something. And I like to watch people too.

i have the best hair dresser in the world, she is also my sister-in-law. she is amazing. she works too much so it is the perfect time to catch up.

Soapbox, I just get my hair relaxed, too. But my hairdresser likes to double and triple book appointments of various complications 20 minutes apart. You'd think that'd be enough time, but no. Going to get my hair done annoys me, it's like an all-day event!

I chat with my hair dresser. When I'm under the dryer I'll read a magazine or I'll just sit and think and do a little people watching as well. Salon time is relax time for me, I don't do anything that is a "have to do".

I usually just read magazines!I dont like to listen to my ipod because if she tries to talk to me then I wont hear her. Kinda rude...I dont know who would bring their laptop..sheesh...that could be a nasty accident!

I tend to zone out when I'm getting my hair trimmed. It rarely takes more than forty minutes to trim or cut my hair. I'm shy so I don't like talking unless I'm getting a serious cut. Then, I'm telling my stylist what I want with pictures and physically showing her what I want with my hands.

the only time i spend a lot of time inthe chair is when i'm getting my highlightsor a color-bath, that time i chat with her,then when she put that thing in your head,that gives you heath, i always bring a littlemirror and my tweezers.
