The problem: It's the old adage: too much of a good thing ain't a good thing. Keep in mind that mascara is meant to darken and thicken lashes. That's it. It's not meant to double or triple lashes or create a whole new fringe. Lashes should frame the eyes, not overpower them. Imagine a beautiful painting is your eyes and your lashes are the frame. Would you want a beautifully lacquered frame, or one mounded with black paint, brushed on thick with drips and lumps?

The fix: Curl lashes and apply two brushed-through coats of mascara. Curl again (just a quick pump close to the lash line) after mascara dries to give your lashes a nice lift. Then use just a touch to darken the bottom.

Yes, Ejnomad, less is more. I like the idea of bronzer as blush. My only concern is your not getting a colorful lift along with the bronze-y glow. For yellow undertones I like apricot/mango shades for blush. I know women aren't fans of peach tones but I use them all the time on my actresses and they are just so natural looking and flattering. To 'health up' your bronzer as blush trick, why not try a bronzing duo. Nars does a beautiful one that has a bronze side and a apricot/mango side. You'll use just a touch of the peach shade on the apples (after you've applied the bronzer). So pretty, trust! For women in their 40's and up I like to use tinted moisturizers, softer brow shades and juicy tones on lips and cheeks (avoid mauve or muddy tones)...this seems to work beautifully for Ms. Aniston! I pretty much have followed your advice prior to reading the advice on makeup. I do, however, tend to wear a bronzer rather than blushes, because my skin has yellow undertones, not pink. Is this a mistake? I am in my 40's and noticed an elderly woman today wearing lots of makeup. While I think it's good she cares, the make up was way bright and wrong. Can you give tips to aging women? I want to look good at 80, not freaky.
