To create Helen Mirren's elegantly tousled hair, stylist Creighton Bowman began by applying volumizing mousse to her wet hair. Then, he blew her hair dry, allowing pieces to turn out in different directions. To create body, he put the top layers in small Velcro rollers, using René Furterer Finishing Hairspray ($27) to set it. After her makeup was done, he took out the rollers and added some dry shampoo and some molding paste on the ends for added texture.
