How to Get Lipstick That Matches Your Skin Tone
Get Perfect "Barely There" Lipstick

Vanessa Williams matched bold, smoky eyes with a beautiful but almost invisible lipstick look at the March of Dimes Beauty Ball. Her makeup artist for the night, Sam Fine, has some pointers on creating the perfect lipstick look to match your own complexion. So to see his pointers, just keep reading.
- "I always begin by lining the mouth with a shade that's close to my client's skin tone," Fine says. "I don't simply outline the mouth; I bring liner into the mouth, towards the center, so liner and lipstick 'marry' seamlessly."
- "Afterwards," he says, "I use a lip brush to apply lipstick for an even, satiny finish."
- For Vanessa, Fine used CoverGirl Queen Collection Lasting Lip Pencil in Coffee ($6) and finished off the look with Queen Collection Lip Color in Nude Attitude ($7).
