How Much Would You Pay for the Perfect Face Cream?

I am continually floored by the high price tag of some high-end face moisturizers. According to this list, the priciest skin cream costs $1,500, and the top five are priced above $400! I guess for some people, finding the perfect skin cream is priceless. How much would you pay for a facial moisturizer that changed your life?

mmmmmmIt's tricky when you are choosing a cream for your face. You want something that is gentle - the last thing you would want is a red, blotchy face. You want something that minimizes wrinkles. You want something that does NOT clog your pores - it doesn't do much good if your face lotion turns you into a hive of pimples. You want your skin to look young looking, fresh looking, without being oily. First off, I REALLY like the fact that the Made from Earth "Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum" this is in a pump design. So many face creams are in "pot" designs that were used by the ancient Egyptians. Those designs were fine for Egyptians, but in modern times they just don't work well. Even if your hands are perfectly clean, once you put your fingers into the pot and then onto your face, now you have face oils and skin bits and such on your fingers. The Vitamin Enhanced Face Firming Serum has a nice, light texture and absorbs in quickly. I use this primarily on my neck area, as I want the "face lift" aspect there. Other areas of my face (my forehead etc) are more in need of a very gentle lotion that moisturizes. I highly recommend the Made from Earth Firming serum for those healthy women looking to firm their face and neck.

im 19 and i'm using a $150 moisturiser.plus other creams and serums i use i'd say i spend about 600bucks.way too much to be spending for someone under 20,so i'm really trying to cut back but i can't. in my case, what you pay for is what you get. my skin still isn't perfect but i have to say it's pretty good! my male friends talk about my skin so it should be pretty ok. on a side note,i was told of how the founder of la mer used to eat it as part of his dinner, so i got inspired and i eat a spoonful of it everyday. have yet to get any tummyaches but i must say, it seems to actually work!

I really think it depends on your face and income. There's probably at least one moisturizer in each price bracket a person can use. Don't discount what some of those expensive moisturizers do. The cheap one may be enough, I have one too, Loreal Furture-e, but after trying the Creme de la Mer I was amazed at the difference. My skin has never been so soft and smooth in my life. There is a difference. I've been using a test jar they gave me at the counter (.24oz) for about a month, and went back and bought the 2 oz for $195, which to me is WAY worth it and I can afford it so why not!

Before college easily over $200.Now, i've got tuition, food, gas, insurance. Under $50, though people. THINK ABOUT IT. I used to use orlane ($270), my skin was ok. Now, I eat incredibly healthy, water, excersise. I use a $10 dollar cream, and by skin is flawless. Don't mean to brag, but the shape it was in before. (rosaca, blacheads, occasional breakouts, dry cheeks, OILY teasone, itchy, scars.) I should be allowed to say it's like a baby's butt. So, whatever you but topical, probably won't do much if you don't fix what your doing internallly. I doubt any topical skin cream can give you flawless skin. One can hope...

If it seriously worked, kept my skin wrinkle free and blemish free, I would pay a hefty chunk for it. Nothing can ruin my day as quickly as worrying about a new zit, silly though it is.

I'm a drugstore brand girl myself- I wish I had $20-50 to spend on a face cream sometimes. I really like Aveeno and Neutrogena products and get pretty good stuff for under $15 (and am always on the lookout for a sale or coupon).

I'm fine with my Eucerin Anti-wrinkle face cream for something like $8. It treats me pretty well, also with SPF 15.

I get strangers complimenting my skin and wanting to touch me (it's creepy sometimes)-- I really value my skin. Perfect skin cream is definitely worth up to $300. Over that then it better be made of crushed diamonds and exotic plants only found in the depth of the rainforest. Fresh markets Creme Ancienne by saying it's made in small batches by hand by monks, which also sounds pretty cool to me, but I want to see pictures and proof to pay $500.

Yeah, seriously onesong! Where IS the under $20 section? I'm so happy just using Neutrogena anti-wrinkle daily moisturizer! Its inexpensive, its non-comodogenic, it has SPF 15, and it works!

I have horribly sensitive and acne-prone skin, so if I could find a face cream that could help with everything, I am not sure if any price would stop me!!!

thank gosh onesong! i bought skin cream for 60 bucks and it sucks! never again will i fall for cute packaging and false hopes that something that costs MORE is BETTER cetaphil all the way :)and a light moisturizer with spf. that is ALL you REALLY need!

I wouldn't pay more than $20-50. Consumers are brainwashed to believe that more expensive products do more for your skin, but it's not true. The best bets for improving your skin are retinol and antioxidants, which are not expensive. Companies may put more impressive sounding ingredients in their $100+ creams, but they aren't proven to do anything.

I could probably be talked into about $50, but $40 tends to be my limit. Somebody tried to talk me into a $95 jar of moisturizer and I laughed at her, so she sold it to me at the wholesale price for $40. Guess she was having a slow day.

i can't believe there wasn't an under $20 selection. i have the most sensitive, allergic skin and all "magic" face products i've tried have made me break out like crazy. a little cetaphil and a little oil of olay and i'm done.
