When you love what you do, it doesn't seem like a job. Such is the case with Eugene Souleiman, Wella Professionals Global Care and Styling Creative Director. "Some days I don't know what's work and what's not work," he explained at a recent press conference prior to revealing the brand's latest color trends for 2013, for which he cocreated. Souleiman admits to finding inspiration "anywhere and everywhere," whether it's via travel or comics, and even through interactions with his toddler-aged daughter.

As for advice he'd give to those just starting out in the industry, he recommends soaking in as much training as possible, as well as adopting a trial-and-error mantra. "Do not be afraid to try things out," he said. "The minute you stop trying, you die." A rather deep statement, no doubt. But as Souleiman so poignantly puts it, even Pablo Picasso used his mistakes to his advantage.
