Nobody wants to deal with body acne, particularly if you plan on showing some skin. But today, we have the 1-2-3 punch to getting rid of body blemishes with some effective products to stop breakouts. Now, I know body acne something we typically don't like to discuss, but rest assured, you're not alone.
Anyone can get body acne because it's caused by clogged pores and bacteria. So to knock it out, you need to keep your pores clean and you need to get rid of bacteria as much as possible. Also, when you sweat, wear loose-fitting clothing so that you don't suffocate your skin. The first step to combating body acne is to wash every day in the shower with an anti-bacterial soap.
Now tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and you can find it in Dr. Bronner's body wash. And this guy isn't just for your body. You can use it in your hair to wash or even in the kitchen, which I thought was pretty cool, but just be sure when you use it, they can use it on a back scrubber so you can get all at the hard to reach places like your lower back and your shoulders.
And finally, be sure to rinse off all of the lather so that you don't have any leftover residue. Okay, so now that you've cleaned your skin you want to keep it clean and you don't want your pours to get clogged and the one ingredient that's going to do that is salicylic acid. One product that you should definitely look for are clearing pads like these from Proactiv.
And these pads are perfect because they're large enough to get your neck, your shoulders, your chest anywhere that needs extra attention and plus, it has witch hazel in it, which is a really great astringent in addition to salicylic acid. Lastly, if you have aggressive blemish that you just can't seem to get rid of, spot treat it with benzoyl peroxide.
Now benzoyl peroxide is essentially an cure all because it kills acne bacteria which is the cause of any blemish, and a great spot treatment is by Clean and Clear. Now this one has 10% benzoyl peroxide but you'll be find if you find a 5% option as well. One thing I like to do is apply a thin film to wherever my breakout is on my skin to prevent future breakouts.
And just be sure to wear sunscreen after you apply benzoyl peroxide to your face because it makes you very sensitive to the light and that'll do it to clear up your body acne.
