Get J. Mendel's Luxurious Makeup Look From the Drugstore

"If your fur coat cost $15,000, spend $15 on your makeup," said lead makeup artist Dick Page backstage at the J. Mendel Fall 2014 show.

Expensive. Uptown. Gorgeous. Mature. These were all words you could use to describe the clothing and the beauty look from the runway. Page created a beautiful makeup palette that didn't clash with the rich colors in the collection. He used Maybelline Master Glaze in Plums Up ($9) on the cheeks and covered the lids in a metallic taupe shadow. The eye makeup was given a touch of drama with Eye Studio Master Smoky Shadow Pencil ($8) topped with lip balm for a glossy finish.

Hair also had a confident and sophisticated flair. Key stylist Anthony Turner used a large one-inch curling iron to create very loose waves with volume at the roots. He created high shine using the Rene Furterer Glossing Spray ($23), which he applied to his hands before raking through the ends. Some of the hair was actually tucked into coats to give the feel of a working woman in a hurry.

Honey mixed two Maybelline polishes ($3), Better in Buff and Go Nude, to give a flesh tone and natural finish to the hands.
