Every season, Jason Wu delivers two things: A-list models and dramatic, glamorous makeup. So we weren't surprised to see the likes of Karlie Kloss, Hilary Rhoda, Liu Wen, and Jourdan Dunn backstage at his Spring 2014 show, but the rose-gold-hued glitter on the eyes was a touch shocking. Makeup artist Diane Kendal told us the trick to getting the flecks to stay put is a little water on the brush. Everything else on the face was a wash of nudes (and the clothes were, too) to ensure the look remained feminine despite this strong eye.
The hint of gold was carried over to the hair with a sleek metal barrette that finished off each model's blunt ponytail. The slicked-back look was inspired by photographer Helmut Newton. Lead stylist Odile Gilbert used Kérastase Gloss Appeal for an almost-wet finish. "It's always about a very chic woman, kind of rich," she said. "It about simple, graphic, but very elegant."
