Love It or Hate It? Jordin Sparks's Black-Tip Manicure

Last night at the Super Bowl XLII, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks walked out onto the Arizona field to sing a very smooth and soulful "Star-Spangled Banner." For the most part I thought she looked great with her center part and loose waves, her iridescent pinky/purple eye shadow, and her understated black dress. But her silvery white and black-tipped manicure was questionable. What did you think of it?

I like thevway black tips look. I just did mine like tht today except my nails sent very long lol as long as u keep it at a reasonable length (not grossly long) and dnt dress like trash it can b pretty cute :)

fake nails look cheep to me. a nice short red or nude nail looks so much more chic.

this reminds me of those girls in high school who had the big thick acrylic nails and would change the color of the tips like every week...i've always thought it looked trashy

While I personally wouldn't have gone for the black tips, it was edgy and she put forth an amazing performance!!

I love her nails. If she were a decade or so older I would say they're ghetto or trashy but hey, she's still a teenager. When I was her age I thought a regular french manicure was for either a conservative event or for older women lol. She wore a great dress and looked fantastic so a little funk in her look kept her looking age appropriate, at least IMHO.

Personally I find it tacky and borderline trashy. It looks like she has dirt under her nails. I've never been a fan of colored tips, or tips with glitter. I say if you want to be creative, do it on your toes. I thought the whole black nail polish was finally over? It would have looked better solid black than just the tips. Granted, she is 18, so most people will give her a pass on it. The last time I did anything wild with my nails was when I was 15, now I look back at pictures and wonder what I was thinking! What's wrong with a french manicure? It always looks neat and classy, and it never clashes. Provided it's done properly, not too long or thick, or has those weird indented ends.

doesn't look too bad. if the tips were longer, it would look HORRIFIC. i don't get why this girl always looks 30 going on 50. considering her age, it's frightening. she doesn't have that fresh-faced look.
