Julianne Moore arrived at the Paris premiere of A Single Man uncharacteristically done-up with a bold smoky eye and matte pink lipstick. While her usual red carpet style certainly includes makeup, it's typically a lot softer and more natural. Do you like seeing the vixen-ish side of Ms. Moore come out to play, or do you prefer her usual understated look?

Her eye makeup is so heavy in the "done up" person that all you see is a black ring around her eyes. You're not even looking at her eyes -- just the junk around 'em.

I don't feel any woman over 40 should wear that much makeup. If it was blended out and more smokey with a gray it would look good. She's a redhead and over 45 I believe... they have a hard time wearing more makeup. With skin as pale as that, color is going to show far more intense.

I think anyone would look horrible with such dark makeup, let alone a pale redhead with freckles. Maybe if the eye makeup was a medium grey tone I would think different.
