Kate Beckinsale always has perfect, glossy, frizz-free waves that break across her shoulders in just the right place. Clearly, having Frédéric Fekkai's Adir Abergel on hand is a big help, but there's also a trick to getting these kind of waves right. For Kate's hair at the Underworld: Awakening premiere, Abergel says that the key to creating her soft curls was starting low.

Specifically, he prepped the hair with the brand's Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel on the roots and the Highlight Care Illuminating Cream on the ends. After blow-drying, he then used a one-inch curling iron to wrap strands of Kate's hair starting two inches away from her roots. That way, she had a smooth-on-top look with silky waves below. It's a simple tip, but it makes a big difference. Abergel's other advice? For a look like this, curl away from your face.
