Whether or not Kate Middleton did her own wedding makeup remains unknown, but the rumor is she took lessons from makeup artist Arabella Preston to perfect her technique for the big day. For the perfect bridal glow, Kate chose a rosy-toned blush with a coordinating pink gloss. She accentuated her look even further with black eyeliner (her staple) and a smoky blend of charcoal and taupe shadows on the lids and creases. I thought the makeup was very "her," too. I mean Kate without her black liner just wouldn't be Kate, no?

I thought it was really refreshing that she didn't bring in a pro, it gives the makeup a more approachable vibe. The smokey eye definitely mixes it up rather than boring bridal bright lip. But more importantly almost every makeup artist will tell you that on your wedding you want to look like yourself just slightly more polished, the black liner is what her entire look is about. So mission accomplished.

I'm on the side of "unfortunate" makeup..as a pro makeup artist whose done brides for 10 years, I can tell you she really should have hired someone who knew how to make it timeless...it was a terrible mismatch with the classic dress. The eyeliner was way to harsh and shouldn't have extended across the whole lower lash line...yet this is how she always does her makeup. I was really disappointed to not see an upgrade in her beauty look from what she does day to day...too bad...did like the lightness of the blush and lips though but the heavy lid shade and the sharp liner were a disappointing thumbs down. I would have gone with gel blush and a lip stain under lipstick that's blotted. I don't know how she kept the make-up off her veil! It would make me even more nervous. Opinions are like a*******. I think her make-up is lovely, and this is showing everything as more pink than it really was.

Ughh, I really didn't like her makeup. The colors are nice, but the technique is off... she should've just gotten a professional to do it

I've never liked her makeup style, and I think is not natural at all, especially the eyeliner. She really needs a makeup artist or taking lessons with another people. Oh! And change her skincare brand too, oxygen or hydrogen peroxide is bad, really oxidative and free radical generator for skin and she's really cute, she can't damage her skin like that! If she's going to be the next queen she might need to look perfect...
