Hi, it's Kirbie. Today, I'm here again with Beau Nelson, Kristen Stewart's makeup artist, and today he's gonna show us how to take a daytime look into night specifically using Kristen's look that he gave her at Cannes.
Kristen was wearing this amazing dress from Reem Acra that was red. And at first she was kind of, a little bit hesitant because it wasn't actually her premiere. It was for Robert's premiere, Cosmopolis. I saw like a real Hollywood moment waiting to happen.
So, Beau, how do we take this look from day to night?
Well, since you already have your foundation, your eyebrows and your eyelashes finished. All we have to do is set a little bit of highlight and contour and a red lip, and you're there. So we're gonna use a powder contour, and then we're going to go back in and we're going to shade exactly where the light would normally recede.
Now we're going to use this product from Yves St. Laurent. So, just tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap. Just like that. And I like to take it up a little bit onto the temples and on the top of the cheekbones. For Kristen's look, we wanted to do a really simple eye. And we did. And I was looking at it, and I thought, "It just needs a little something."
Oh wow.
And it's like a very sparkly, creamy, bouncy mousse product. I find that the best way to apply these is with my fingers. Because with a brush they tend to fall a little bit. And I'm just gonna go in and just touch and press along the eyelid. So now we're gonna go with our lip color and I like to start by lining the lip.
This look I wanted, a lip that really match the dress. I know sometimes matchy-matchy isn't very cool, but I thought in this case, I think this would be the coolest thing ever. So this is jungle red and for Kristen it works because fair skinned beautiful. You're a little more tanned and just as beautiful, but I want to use a little bit of a different color on you.
You take your lipstick right to the inside corners of your mouth The last thing I did for Kristen was I added a bunch of individual false eyelashes.
Okay.
With individual eyelashes, they're a little easier I think to put on yourself than a strip would be. I like to use a couple of different sizes of lashes to make it a little bit more realistic. In this particular look, we concentrated more on the outer corner but we did take a little bit all the way across.
You know last step is just to powder a little bit lightweight or you need it. And there is the finished look from Cannes.
Well I love this look, I feel like I'm ready to go out tonight. What do you think?
