Lancome and Dillard's Raise Funds For St. Jude

Did you know that it takes $1.7 million dollars a day to operate St. Jude Children's Research Hospital? Even more astounding is the fact that no child is ever denied treatment regardless of his or her family's financial situation. Recently, Lancôme flew a group of online beauty editors (including myself) down to Memphis to visit St. Jude where we not only experienced a truly inspiring look behind the daily goings-on at the hospital, but interacted with the kids firsthand. What I found to be most touching, however, was the unbreakable spirit of the patients; children who are being treated for the unimaginable: pediatric cancer or other catastrophic illnesses. One mother, whose young daughter is currently being treated for a brain tumor, explained to us (without a dry eye in the house) how appreciative she is of the all-encompassing support the hospital provides during perhaps one of the most difficult times in a family's life. You see, St. Jude covers all food, lodging, and travel expenses for patients and one family member, and it's majorly because of generous public donations.
