The Latisse Diaries: Week 1, Part 2 — In Which I Learn Some Important Things

OK, I've had my Latisse for a couple of days now, and I have to say that it's expensive. Not as expensive as lash extensions, which I've also tried, but $130 for a one-month supply. My wallet hurts, long story short. It could also take up to eight weeks for me to begin seeing results; hopefully, that won't be the case. I usually respond pretty quickly to treatments anyway. Here's a pic of my lashes as they look without mascara now, for reference. I'll update after I've applied it a few more times and tell you all how it works.

I've been using Latisse with no problems save a little eyelid irritation the first few weeks. I started using it because my eyelashes and brows, once really lush, seem to have thinned out a bit since I turned 40 and I felt like using this product was a nice, minor way to ease the aging process. My doctor says she's prescribed hundreds of bottles and has never seen anyone's eyes change color. She suspects this side effect may occur for glaucoma patients who drop the product directly into their eyes. It's a good product, it works, and, if you buy it online, throw out the brushes and apply it as Bella suggests, not terribly expensive for what it does. Oh, and I've got brown eyes. Beautiful, big, doe shaped, velvet brown eyes. Which I love. As does my husband. And I can't stand it when I hear someone with blue eyes moan they'd just die if their eyes turned blue. I'm all for being happy with your self, but sheesh. Most blue eyed people remind me of rabbits. So there.

I've been using the Latisse for five weeks and haven't noticed any growth yet. I am in need of a new bottle very soon so home I get my monies' worth.

Is it actually noticeable and worth the money/risk? I've seen the commercials and the possible side effects (like permanent brown iris pigmentation) seem worse than having lashes that need a lash extending mascara.

I find Latisse interesting and a little scary. If it doesn't work, then you're out a lot of money and time. If it does — will your long lashes sway in the breeze like weeping willow branches? You're a brave lady, Bella!

I hope it works for you. I'm too hesitant to try out new beauty products that can alter your appearance.Maybe it's the picture but your eyelid looks a little swollen.

That is a terrible picture! Did you take it with your camera phone? How is that supposed to be a good reference?

I have used it since March--absolutely wonderful. I can get almost 3 months out of 1 bottle--do not use the brushes that come in the package. Get a thin eyeliner brush, put 1 drop in the cap, wet the brush and apply to the base of the upper and lower lashes. I also did my eyebrows. It is totally unbelievable. Check out Dr. Lorrie Klein for these off label, doctor suggested directions. You can go on maintenance os 2-3 times per week once your lashes are grown.
