Love It or Hate It? Colored Mascara

The other day I noticed a girl on the bus wearing neon blue mascara. She was impossibly stylish, but the mascara was so distracting that I couldn't help but feel like it was out of place in her overall look. While I'll try blue mascara on a whim, I'm not one to wear colored mascara very often. What's your take on colored mascara? Fun? Flirty? Too '80s?

No, I find it very distracting. I had a friend who wore purple mascara and it looked so trashy!

I recently bought a tube of Rimmel extra super lash mascara in Electric blue.It's not gonna replace black, but it's a fun alternative. Red mascara isn't a good look tho, it looks like you have an eye infection...

mmm my mother used to have loads of them it's so 70s ;-) I actually like then except if they are too light or bright.

I don't wear colored mascara but it sounds nice for teenagers who are loving the 80's right now or just being young I'm only 23 by the way not too old, but just not my style. Great for clubbing at night though.If I was 16 I'd rock it every day.

actually i really like glitter mascara i got some from armani make up and its like a glitter gloss coat over your reg. mascara. people always compliment it.

I wear blue and green mascara from Shu Uemura once in a while. I tried the yellow Vincent Longo Mascara but I was very disappointed. It was very subtle and I only applied it to the tips. The issue was that it ended up smudged below my eyes even though it's supposed to be waterproof.

I just bought some purple mscara and I love it - brings out my brown eyes! Not drastic but pretty!

Not a light color. No way. Sometimes I wear purple or navy mascara but never gold or light pink.

I saw this first on my friend's,i liked it and decided get one for myself,but i couldn't find the same colour and i got a purple one and i wore it when i met with my boyfriend,omg he did't like it and all day long he went on making fun of me...i like dark colors,that red looks just not good.

Other: If we are talking about very dark navy tones and dark plum then I love it. However anything other than those two colors (excluding brown, dark gray) I hate; it just looks awful.

I'll wear colors sometimes when in a funky mood or something. I wouldn't do it all the time, only about 10% ;)

Hi! Not all coloured mascaras fall from the same tree. The model in the photo looks somewhat clownish. However, it is possible yo wear coloured mascara and still look sophisticated. I LOVE YSL Faux Cils #5. It is a vibrant aubergine that looks classy, and contrasts beautifully against dark eyes. When I wear it, it looks as if I have a soft halo of aubergine around the eyes - stunning.

Ive seen navy mascara on people and it looks great. Ive also seen turquoise on some people and it looks nice. No other colors though.

I love color mascaras. I have brown, maroon and blue mascara. For going out at the evenings I use the black, but during the day I use very often color mascara. I feel confident with it and moreover some years ago a french prof make up artist who worked for Sisley recommendme to use color mascara.

i LOVE colored mascaras! they're so fun!!! blue mascaras definitely have a brightening effect on my eyes. i also like purples, but stray away from anything red-ish... i would think that those colors would make my eyes look red.

Most colored mascaras aren't pastel, they're dark with a slight hint of color. I like to wear deep violet mascara to bring out the green in my eyes. It reads "black" to the naked eye but is still effective in enhancing my eye color. It's all about finding a color that works and is not pastel.

Don't like the picture - love colored mascara. Have been wearing since the 70's and will probably always wear it. Yes, I grew up in the disco era and it still lives in me; although I don't go over the top since I'm getting older.
