Love It or Hate It? Sarah Jessica Parker's Braided Bun

Is it the summer of braids or what? Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing a plaited bun at the opening of a Valentino fashion exhibition in Rome. I'm not sure that this heavy look is the most flattering choice for her, but I could be in the minority. What do you think of SJP's 'do?

it's like the size of her head!! she pulls it off though, i think, because she has such a sense of confidence about her, she can pull off almost anything.

I prefer her with her hair out. The severity of the pulled-back hair makes her look a little bird-like. I also preferred her hair when it was more pale and when it had some streaks though it - the dark homogenous colour is attractive (by itself), but I think it is less flattering than a softer colour. Overall, I think she's prettier with a softer look.

I do like her but here... why is she dressed in a curtain? And the hairdo makes her look years older than she really is. Too bad.

Odd...I was just talking yesterday with a friend about how there are few celebrities out there that we think pretty much *always* get it right, and she was one that we said does look great all the time.This time, though, not so much. I agree with others that it ages her, and looks a little heavy. I don't HATE it, but definitely have seen her with better hair. In my opinion, a rare miss for her, though.

It's definitely TOO big for her, it looks like it's weighing her down...I think she does look best with her hair pulled up, but in other ways..Or if it's down, I think it has to be shorter so that her face doesn't look so long...

i like the look but her head and body are too small to carry it off. sorry SJP but even you aren't that good! my neck gets sore just looking at it.then again, look at the size of that collar. perhaps a smaller bun may have disappeared in the entire outfit.

i agree with most, the braided bun looks nice and sjp pulls it off so well, but it would better suit a less distracting outfit.
