In January, Stefano Gabbana of the famed design duo of Dolce and Gabbana, told WWD that lipstick would be the core piece of the their new makeup collection. "When I see a woman madeup, I look straight to the lips," he said.
Yesterday, at an event following Dolce and Gabbana's runway show in Milan, Scarlett Johansson, the newly tapped spokesperson for the design duo's first makeup collection, was in attendance. As for those bold lips? Gabbana wasn't kidding around. Scarlett, looking a little paler than normal — could be the foundation, or perhaps the paparazzi's camera flashes? — wore a richly pigmented red lip with sultry, brown smokey eyes. The eyes are too heavy for the look. You need to pick one: dark, sultry eyes OR screaming red lips. Not both. If her eyes were a little more clean and bright (just a highlighter over the brow bone and mascara), this red lip would be the bomb!

7oh my god! she looks gorgeous. that hair color is stunning. and for those preaching the eyes or lips rule - that's outdated, silly, and quite frankly boring. beauty has no rules, despite what magazines and beauty blogs preach.
8I can't stand this girl, but at least she was nice to look at before - now, she looks as ugly on the outside as she is on the inside.
9the makeup isn't the problem, though. while I agree that you shouldn't do strong eyes and a strong lip, I actually think it works. the problem is that hair is all wrong for her (though a gorgeous color; she really needs to go back to blond) and the eye brows are just scary...

MaggieLei, I was thinking the exact same thing - it is alarmingly early nineties! It looks dated to me.
23It's her eyebrows that I have a problem with. Two thick and dark for her face, it competes with the dark (90's brown) eyes AND lipstick AND pale skin AND dark hair. Can you imagine how much more stunning she would be here if she wiped all that stuff off and left just some eye definition? Think about.
