Only Marc by Marc Jacobs Could Make Pigtails Cool For Grown-Ups

The models at Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 were a legion of skater girls. The makeup was nonexistent except for bold, smudged eyeliner and gobs of mascara. You can get the look by using a soft lip brush to apply Shiseido Accentuating Cream Eyeliner ($26) in Deep Black to the top and bottom waterline. Then, lead makeup artist Dick Page applied loads of mascara to get a clumpy finish.

Guido Palau used Redken Flex pomade to create pigtails on the girls for a youthful style. The middle part remained jagged and topped with a black headband for a slight edge. "It's sweet and sour," he said. Lead manicurist Elisa Ferris just added a coat of Marc Jacobs Enamored in Shiny ($18) to complete the look.
