The Tribeca Film Festival has officially started, and the past couple of nights have kicked off in high gear. And by "gear," I mean, lots of A-list stars partying in Chanel (the host of last night's party). Mary-Kate Olsen arrived in a dark dress and dark, coppery, smoky metallic eyes contrasted by pale chalky lips. What do you think of this look — is it an improvement over her recent style disaster?

the lip is tooo neutral. there are better ways to do a pale lip, ones that don't make you look like death warmed over.
From the nose up it's not bad, and definitely better than that headband (yecchh!)
3I guess I'm the only one that likes her eyes and the pale lips.

11I don't think that they're ugly I just thnk that tricks and looks like this don't do anything to enhance their features. Personally, I like a more balanced look. This, IMNSHO, is just garrish.

I don't like pale lips, they look.. well, pale.
15the pale lip and smokey eye is classic and chic. It's just this particular pale lip color washes her our were others don't. Just not the right lip color for this picture.

And partyof6, I don't really think she is trying to be fashion forward so much as comfortable for herself. I don't think the Olsen's have ever claimed themselves to be fashionable.

40I agree with "clocked". I don't think this look works on her. I think nice pinky lips and light eye makeup with some blush would work better on her. And she needs to wash her hair! I noticed the grandma hands too! Maybe a good hand lotion or a day at the spa would help! She can afford it!!!
41I normally like a smoky eye/nude lip combo but the color selection here is off. The darkness is concentrated under her eyes, making her look sickly and the matte texture of the lip further solidifies the whole recovering drug addict look.

46Hmm, this is a tricky one, because with such bold eyes, the lips do need to be understated. Perhaps a drop of benetint under the lipstick would have perked her up a bit.
Oh well, we all love MK for her odd style anyway. The day she walks out in a co-ordinated outfit with tan skin and perfect make-up will be a dull day for fashion.
