The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Rihanna

If there's one thing Rihanna does well, it's taking red-carpet risks. (OK, so she actually does a lot of things well, but we're talking beauty here.) This time around, she's doing a glam-tomboy thing with blond highlights and a sexy, sparkly turquoise cat-eye liner. Although I'm not loving the visible lip liner — something I fear is becoming a trend — the overall look is so chic and sexy that I can't nitpick too much. So great to see Rihanna back on the red carpet!

Not a fan. Her hair is overwhelming and the makeup doesn't do anything for her. She's so naturally beautiful. I just wish she wouldn't try too hard and ruin it like with this look.

Love, love, LOVE her eye make-up...she has such gorgeous but unusual features...but I´m going to pretend that I never read that about visible lip-liner coming back, that is one trend I´m never going to follow...

HOT. MESS. the eyes are somewhat nice, but the eyebrows are SO overdone....and the LIPS! what on earth they look lopsided and overly lined. and way too much shimmer and blush and everything covering up her naturally gorgeous skin. i always look forward to seeing her makeup and hair looks, but this one is a big thumbs down for me (along with that outfit).
