Ever wonder how Michelle Phan, YouTube's makeup tutorial star and Lancôme's official video makeup artist, got started with cosmetics? We caught up with her at the Lancôme Open Studio during New York Fashion Week for the answer, and she also revealed what beauty trends she's forecasting for 2011. I really feel she was totally honest with her responds towards the questions. Though, I do feel she becomes slightly nervous whenever facing camera time with someone else. She only human, she's allow to make mistakes. She seems like a sweet girl and people who know her personality say she's very nice and cool. Best of luck to Michelle with her success.

I think Michele's YouTube videos are fabulous and I hope she continues to enjoy great success. The home remedies for facial care are wonderful and I have passed these on to my friends and family. Congrats Michele on your partnership with Lancome. I have been a Lancome customer for a short time and Love this line. We love you Michele and keep the videos coming!

Also, of course it is not going to affect Lancome's decision. However, it does affect MY and others viewpoint on Lancome.

She is an inspiration to all women and she has an eye with art and very talented on mixing colors. I am a painter, loves art and music. I have respect on Michelle, because despite her fame she is keeping her feet on the ground. Very humble and sweet. Keep up the good work Michelle and I will support you all the way. The last time she was asked about 2011's fashion "ins", she said a strong purple eye and disco-like dress. It seems Michelle has no idea what she's talking about like always.

@ChesAna Stalker much? If you hate her so, why do you follow her like a love sick puppy and comment on every thing she's involved with. Shows how mature you are. What Michelle does with her business is her business. She provides good makeup tutorials. Why should her personal life matter so much? As for the vivienne tam square "Commercial", the app is free and device is free. You don't have to buy anything. Why are you still complaining? I seriously feel like her haters are relentless and ignorant. Michelle is only getting bigger and bigger. You're wasting your time hating because it's not going to affect her or Lancome's decision.

Lancome is proud to be associated with Michelle. For those of you "speaking" for Lancome and why the brand signed her, you are posting incorrect information. We signed Michelle becuase we loved her videos, her style and her personality. Annie, thanks for all the cute videos! We love them.

I certainly don't hate Michelle Phan, but I absolutely cannot respect her as a businesswoman or a person. Lying about her business practices, falsely claiming that her IQQU products are FDA approved (and then backpedaling, "selling" the company, and deleting all evidence of her having anything to do with it when she was found out), treating her fans like attack dogs when anyone dares to criticize her (even constructively). I'm tired of how so many of her videos have basically just become advertisements for other (often very expensive) products; her latest "freelance tips" video comes to mind, with how it just hawked Vivienne Tam and Square, without providing any solidly helpful tips. It's unfortunate that there are better gurus getting less attention than her, simply because she knows how to edit a video better. While I'd love her paycheck, I certainly don't envy the girl. I just feel sorry for her for being stuck in her own web of lies and hypocrisy.

Reading the writing style from most of the "haters", it seems very likely to have come from one person. So sad. Michelle has over 1 million fans, and is internationally well known and respected. She's been making videos since 2007 and hasn't looked back since then. Seems like a lot of people on here (or person) is bitter about her success and fame. People like to find the time to gossip about her. Which shows how far she's reached. The girl inspires jealousy. Who wouldn't want to be in her shoes? I support Michelle and all the makeup gurus. Keep reaching out, and haters (or hater), go get a life. She's been featured on bellasugar before and they're big fans of hers. Take your hate somewhere else.

people why are u so negative towards her? People made her famous, she didn't fetch for fame. Youtube made her. Now her career is really her living her life enjoying fashion and make up. She even just said it herself, it doesn't feel like work. Lancome hired her, because she's the it girl right now, and when people are influenced by her, they buy lancome. I personally admire her inspirations, but I'm not a huge fan, but I can see all her doing are good intentions, not ill minded like everyone is thinking. Besides, you ask why Lancome hired her? Ask the entertainment ind, why they hired the kardashian for reality show? why them for bebe, when they aren't even designers. So don't past so much judgment on Michelle. This girl has education. She is an artist. Most asians are not just smart, but educated, and innovative. Like I said I am not her huge fan, but she's got potential.

In this short video, her manner of speaking resembles that of a pre-teen. Lancome "picked [her] up" to shovel in the younger consumers. It's very common for companies to hire anyone who receives a great deal of attention--especially attention from the internet, since that may arguably be the most effortless method of gaining prominence for most. Michelle, where's your dignity? Was it consumed long ago by your self-seeking greed for fame and wealth? Your still-increasing vanity has clouded any pint of realness you had before signing with Lancome.... Detrimentally this has consequently given you the inability to see what you've become. :-/ In any case, thank you, PopSugar for conducting this interview. She says the same thing in every interview and she NEVER knows what shes talking about, just b*llsh*tting. Its okay let lancome keep using her for her sub # (because when she applied before to lancome they rejected her) and her english is horrible. she always messes up her grammar, "well im going back to basiC" Such a shame a company like Lancome is recruiting people like this. I just can't trust a word comming from this girl's mouth, why does she lie so much. I was shock when people find out that she lied about her skincare products iQQU are USFDA approved, she immediately lied that she no longer owned it. The second she said so, I knew her business and her products are not legal to be sold in the United States. How can anyone believe in what she says about Lancome?
