More Foundation Colors Coming From Benefit and Bare Escentuals

Here's something to look forward to: Bare Escentuals and Benefit are both expanding their range of foundation shades this year. Now, both will offer even more options for both fair and dark skin colors — something I'm always happy to report.

Beginning in February, BareMinerals will add five new shades that range from a neutral light tone to a deep golden tone. Available in both matte and original formulas, these shades bring the total number up to 20. Later this year, Benefit plans to provide more options for its Hello, Flawless! powder foundation (see my review). When it comes to finding the perfect shade, things should get a lot easier in 2010.

I agree with GummiBears. BE needs more undertone variations for their foundations especially. I have porcelain skin and I like their mineral foundation, I have the color fair, but it is wayyyy to yellow for my skintone. My boyfriend even says it is way to yellow for me too, he says it covers up my true undertone which is blue. I'm glad that BE is finally getting more colors, but I have doubts they will offer my undertone. I've actually been thinking about using a different brand of mineral makeup that will actually have my color/shade for my skintone.

I hope they will offer more undertone variations in BE. I tried to get into BE a while back but it was a bust. I agree with Anony, get rid of the bismuth oxychloride.

Nooooo just when I bought another jar of bare minerals to mix to get my shade. Bah humbug. Maybe be will actually have my shade now!!

Great! Now if they could only start eliminating unnecessary, cheap and irritating fillers like bismuth/bismuth oxychloride, I'd give them another shot.

Great! Benefit especially has a problem with its concept of what's considered dark for human skin.

I'm looking forward to this. Benefit is one of my favorite brands, but their makeup tends to be too dark and yellow for my skin. I can't wait to see the colors they come up with.
