Fashion Week is the source for tons of amazing nail art and gorgeous polish ideas, and the Fall 2012 shows were idea gold. Sushi nails, ombré glitter manicures, fishnet-stocking French tips, crushed glass: this season had it all, and now you can, too. Here's the scoop on the hottest manicures from Paris, Milan, London, and New York.

Manish Arora

Manish Arora [1] matched his models' crimson lips to their glossy red nails.

Blugirl

At Blugirl [2], nails were a sheer but shiny pink hue that coordinated perfectly with the line's color palette.

Vivienne Westwood Gold Label

Models wore custom hologram Minx manicures at Vivienne Westwood [3] Gold Label.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo [4] sent models out in this lovely aubergine shade, which looked great with the teals and silvers that dominated the season's palette.

Burgundy nails made for a beautiful contrast against gold embroidery at Antonio Marras [5].

At Nahm, nails had a base coat of CND polish in Desert Suede, then got lightened up with thin coats of Marshmallow Rose polish and topped with CND Super Matte topcoat.

Long, textured silver talons set off the statement rings at Jean Paul Gaultier [18].

Sportmax

More bright red at Sportmax [19], where the color was used to give heavy navy accessories a lift.

The showstopping "Flirty Flower" nails at Rachel Antonoff were created with two coats of CND polish in Flashpoint as a base, then hand detailed using CND Brilliant White and Anchor Blue.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label

For this show, Vivienne Westwood [23] asked Minx co-founders Janice Jordan and Dawn Lynch-Goodwin to make nails that had the look and feel of the surface of a skateboard. The result is called the ‘Touch Me, Feel Me’ Minx.

Perhaps the most exciting nails at any Fashion Week show of the last few seasons, Fred Butler commissioned Minx to create "Bento Box" nails full of faux sushi.

CND nail artist Kristina Estabrooks and her team spent over 130 hours hand detailing “biker babe” manicures for The Blonds. No two sets of nails were the same, and the team used everything from crystals and glitter to leather and crushed glass shards in their designs.
