These bloody tips are the perfect accent to any Halloween costume, and it's an easy three-step look. Editor in chief of Nail It! magazine Stephanie Lavery created the look using an extremely pale pink as the base. After painting two coats, she went back with a dotting tool to place four random dots along the top of the nail. If you don't have a dotting tool, you can just dab dots using the end of the polish brush. Lastly, go back and connect the dots to the tip of your nail and seal with a top coat. Don't worry about perfection, it should look drippy, after all. For a more gory version, why not try an oxblood hue on a bare nail? Now if only pulling together our Halloween costumes could be this easy.

Last night at the Los Angeles premiere of Carrie, lead actress Chloë Moretz gave the popular braided undercut style a bohemian remix. At first glance, this hairstyle just looks like your typical tousled side braid. However, from the back, multiple braids were revealed. "We were inspired by the beautiful Valentino dress to create a loose romantic, braid," said her hairstylist Gregory Russell.
To get the look at home, start with Kevin Murphy Easy Rider Anti-Frizz Crème ($33) on damp hair and blow dry. Then, use a curling iron on random sections to add more texture. Get the complete tutorial when you keep reading.

Demi Lovato is finally putting her love of nail art to work! The singer and X-Factor host is teaming up with The New Black to launch five nail kits this November. The kits range in price from $14-$22 and will be available at Ulta. "I love all the products that I have created because I think they embody all the qualities of a strong woman," Demi told WWD. "It is fun to be able to create your own look down to your nails."
The New Black has been the force behind Demi's nails for about a year, and the singer isn't shy about posting her polish to Twitter or Instagram. "If you have badass nails, you are going to show them on Twitter. When I have cool, awesome nails, I want everyone to see," she quipped. Keep an eye out for the kits in-store at Ulta this November.

Not into the bright hues of Summer, so you welcome the moody manicures of Fall with open arms? Join the club. The only problem with these types of darker colors is that come April, you're supposed to pack them up. But Illamasqua has concocted a solution to our polish problems with Facet ($23). A purple-gray color with slight speckles of gold makes for a gorgeous hue that looks great on a variety of nail lengths and shapes. But the best part about the polish is that the colors are neutral enough to be worn all year long. We think we think we just found our new classic.
Who doesn't like a little pop art on their nails? And considering today is National Comic Book Day, there's no better time than the present to round up the best cartoon- and superhero-themed manicures from Instagram. We already shared some of our favorite Superman nail art in honor of Man of Steel, but keep scrolling to see more superhero and animated favorites in manicure art!
On Instagram, @asos showed off, "Marvel-ous comic book inspired nails." The gold-bedazzled nails (pictured above) called to mind Wonder Woman's golden tiara. And while we're not quite sure if "Zung" is more "Pow" or "Wham" in comic-book terminology, the bubbled font jumped right off the nail, creating that element of old-school flair. Below, an artist from Wah Nails had a similar idea, using favorite exclamations from comic books in this design.
