New Product Alert: MAC Prep and Prime SPF 50

Primers are nothing new, but the SPF 50 sun-protection in this just-released MAC Cosmetics product stopped me in my tracks. Called Prep and Prime ($26.50), this multi-tasking potion acts as a moisturizer, a primer, and a sunscreen, so you can cut out a couple of steps.

All you need is a small amount, and it absorbs very quickly. Simply apply it after you wash your face and wait a couple of seconds before you begin your makeup routine. Another bonus: It contains oil-absorbing powder to help keep you looking matte all day.

So I wonder if it protects against UVA and UVB rays? Does anyone know?

Wow - spf 50. I'm almost out of my Smashbox Photofinish primer, and this is my next one. Most primers don't have spf this high!

Prep and Prime Face Protect spf 50 is an amazing product. I've used it everyday since MAC launched it. However i would suggest to apply moisturizer first because its just a primer/spf not really a moisturizer, especially if you have dry skin.

I'm usually not into MAC at all -- but this product stops me dead in my tracks too! Now I may have to saunter over to Georgetown to pick some up!

SPF 50!? Wow! Is this just a rework of their regular Prep & Prime? If so, I love that stuff. If I'm *just* going to wear primer with no foundation or tinted moisturizer, my first choice is MAC Prep & Prime. It has little subtle sparklies that I think are just awesome. :D

My foundation has a moisturizer and SPF in it, but I do love primer, and the fact that it will keep your make-up matte.MAC has great stuff!

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have been using MAC prep & prime for awhile now and it totally afixes your foundation, so slipping, no shiny face! It is great and now even better with 50 SPF!

this is out in the uk already-i used some of my friends and it is fantastic-i have oily skin and it was shine proof all day and my foudation did not slip x
