Kai is a cult fragrance that has largely been under the radar... until today, when Oprah announced this year's Favorite Things. One of the picks is Kai body butter, a $55 shea-butter souffle scented with tropical notes of cucumber, gardenia, and other white flowers. I've had this in lotion form for a while, and I can never decide if it's old-lady or if it's just a gorgeous floral—but with Oprah's endorsement, we'll all be smelling a whole lot more of it soon.
"Bathing is an art form and nobody enjoys it more than I do," Oprah said. "[Kai] is clean and fresh." It's also likely to sell out, so if you're hankering to smell like O, shop online while you can.

5we sold this at our boutique in nantucket. it's ok. the perfume oil is a lot better than the body butter

13I love Kai. I first discovered it last holiday season. I went to visit my parents in New England, outside of boston, in Westborough, MA. There was a great boutique in this little charming new england town called Atmosphere Beauty...they had so much Kai in stock. I bought over $300 of incredible products there. They also have Coco Monoi by Beauty of bathing which i recently purchased and the Caudalie skincare line as well.(I love their cabernet scrub). Oprah introduced me to Kai but the owner of Atmosphere Beauty is great. He lived in nyc and went to NYU - deciding to own a high end luxury skincare boutique. They always invite me to their instore private launch parties- a urban explotion in the burbs. I'm a loyal customer of www.atmospherebeauty.com now and love the products they find. I live in nyc and yet shop in a small new england town for my must have beauty products. I'm a true beauty and cosmetic junkie!
14I love Atmosphere Beauty's Store in the boston area! Their store is even more amazing that the products on the website. They have so much more! While I love Kai and have been a fan long before oprah touched it, They carry an amazing gadenia/coconut scent called coco monoi by a company called beauty of bathing. Now that I'm over 30, It a little less sweet like kai and has a slightly more sophisticated scent without being "old lady like".
