Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua explained that because Halle Berry's gown (a silver-and-black Versace) was so structured, she wanted to create balance against the star's "Cadillac of a dress." In fact, Bua likened the entire look to "Bond arriving with his girls in a Cadillac."
"I punched up eyes and cheeks so Halle's face didn't disappear with this dress," Bua said, adding, "I put the focus on playing up the eyes." To do this, Bua used Revlon's PhotoReady Primer + Shadow ($8 each), with the Graffiti palette applied on the lid, followed by a shimmery hue from the Metropolitan palette under the eye. After sweeping black liner on, a touch of Chanel's Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir ($30) completed the look.
