Jersey Shore's Pauly D Shows Off His Hair Skills

MTV's Jersey Shore cast member DJ Pauly D (aka Paul Delvecchio) is quickly becoming well known for his labor-intensive blowout — for better or worse. Now he's done us all the service of taping a step-by-step tutorial for his look. Many Italian-Americans and New Jerseyans are understandably none too pleased about the show's depiction of the Shore and its residents, but Pauly clearly doesn't see himself as a bad representative of his community.

What do you think? Is it cool for Pauly and his self-described "Guido" housemates to trumpet whatever grooming routine they like, or does a handful of 20-somethings' love of hair gel and tanning play up stereotypes?

the sad thing is - the jersey shore IS like that! i went to seaside to visit, and it was exactly like this show. all juiced up men, fist pumping in circles all wearing ax and ed hardy shirts, and the place stunk of aqua di gio... i did not believe that it could be true...but sadly, it was (and it was HYSTERICAL to watch them go!)

fish, no one actually thinks that all people from new jersey or the jersey shore are like this. Just like "the real world" is nothing like the real world, i'm sure that "jersey shore" is nothing like jersey shore.

yikes...that hair is gross.the whole idea of jersey shore is trash- i'm not a "guidette" or whatever, but i find this show extremely offensive. the people on that show are a hot mess.

He reminds me of John Gotti's grandkids. Does anyone rememeber that show? Growing up Gotti on A&E? They all got on my nerves. ew. But I do know that not all the people from the Jersey Shore are like this.

Am I the only one who can't stop giggling/laughing at the video? on sadder notes, his eyebrows are more groomed than mine, and I'm a girl whereas he is much other man than me.

This show is a disgrace! I'm from the Jersey Shore and we are NOT all like this! Some are, sure, but the vast majority of us do not look or act like these pieces of garbage.Don't get me wrong, I love trashy television- Vh1 kept me sane through college- but this show is soooo beyond trash. And the fact that these pigs who invade my home every summer are getting all the publicity they can handle for doing nothing but being their disgusting, trashy selves makes me sick to my stomach. Watch the show and try not to feel bad for these kids' parents. I dare you. Watch 'Snookie', or whatever the hell her name is, doing cartwheels in the club in a mini-dress with her crotch hanging out for everyone to see, and tell me this is something we should be glorifying and encouraging. I know they aren't the only ones, and this isn't the only show like this- but this show not only gives my home a bad name, but it gives ME a bad name- I'm ashamed to tell people I'm from New Jersey, because this is what people think we are.We don't need to know their 'beauty secrets', we don't need to know how Pauly D does his hair. Don't bring the Sugars down to this putrid level and waste space with these people, Bella, please. There are other things to talk about.

I was just asking the guido that I work with about how this guy does his hair. He explained it to me because one of his friends wears his hair like this too. I have to say, I would laugh openly at any guy who tried to hit on me at a bar with that hairstyle. Some girl out there needs to guide him towards a better hairstyle!
