2009 Primetime Emmy Awards: January Jones

Betty Draper might not approve of January Jones's smoky gray and silver eyeliner and neutral lip, but the Mad Men actress certainly did look stunning. The silver eye shadow on her inner eyes made things pop, while the smudgy, winged dark gray at the outer corners added a heavy (maybe too heavy) dose of sex appeal. What do you think? Is the smudgy black too much, or are you enjoying seeing January escape Betty's bright lipstick and light eye shadows?

I don't like how they played up her eye shape, it slopes downward on the inner corner and the silver really shows that. I would have liked it better with less silver. I don't think the colors flatter her skintone either, too cool.

I hate the eye makeup and the lip color and I actually think they don't go together at all. She has such a classic; Grace Kelly-type face; she should always keep her eye makeup very simple and go for a more defined lip (I'm not talking a cliche red; but something classic like a pinky peach). now that I think about it; if they do ever make a biopic of Grace Kelly (which they totally should); she would fit perfectly - the look, the talent, and the effortless grace...
