Perhaps you caught my slideshow of what's hot right now in hair color, in which celebrity colorist Johnny Ramirez described how he recently lightened Carey Mulligan's cropped pixie from a medium-toned red to a dark blond hue. On Friday, he paired up with Carey once again to create this much lighter shade, which we first got a glimpse of as she snuggled with boyfriend Shia LaBeouf on Valentine's Day, although she officially debuted her new look on the red carpet at a luncheon for the upcoming Academy Awards earlier today. "She just wants to have fun and be blonde," Ramirez told me of the actress's decision to lighten up. What do you think of the new look? Are you enlightened by this Mia Farrow-like style?

Hate it! She looks like a boy here and she looked sooo adorable before--I was even toying with the idea of trying pixie (again!) after donating hair.

This haircut is not easy to pull off. If you already have a baby face your going to look like an 8 year old. Mia could pull it off way back because she doesn't have that cute face.

I really hate the way everyone feels the need to dye their hair blonde. Slightly flattered that everyone wants my hair color,but in a desperate attempt to look a little different from the rest of the world, I dyed my hair red for a year lol...

Weirdly I was watching a movie with her last night where she had long, blonde hair and I wondered if she looked better in the movie because of the cut or color. Well it must have been the cut cuz the blonde doesn't work
