If you are ever having a tough day, Mary J. Blige's Twitter feed might perk you up. It's usually uplifting without being schmaltzy — much like her American Music Awards look is elegant without being matronly. How could it be with that daring hairstyle and dramatic eye makeup? While the visible lip liner isn't my favorite choice, everything else looks pretty hip to me. What do you think of this look on her?

I think she looks great and her performance was great! Mary has been in this game a long time and i'm proud of her. Mary always keeps it real! She's an inspiration to many women. She is very compassionate. I wish her the best in everything she does.
