First it's purple hair and now I'm talking purple eyes. Purple is one of those versatile shades that can be bright, playful, sultry, and subtle, depending on the finish and depth of color. Purple also makes green eyes pop, brown eyes brighter, and gives blue eyes a cool iciness. Katie Holmes, Kate Hudson, and Emmy Rossum opted for and soft lilac tone for a lightening effect; Audrina Patridge went for sexy, heavily-lined eyes with plum accents; and January Jones and Selita Ebanks spiced their looks up with multitoned colors. I love purple eye shadow -- I'm almost annoyed it's a trend as it's been my blue-eyed "secret" and may look totally passe in another year! Oh well, I'll keep wearing it. You can't go wrong with something so flattering.

I have green eyes, and I have sworn by purple in any shade for as long as I can remember! I have had a problem finding a good eyeshadow though, I used to use this great one by Mary Kay and then they discontinued it and I ran out...anyone have any good suggestions on good purple eyeshadows?

I love the purple, but out of all of these looks, I think Audrian's is the worst. I won't necessary blame that on her makeup, as I think the biggest problem is her hair.

I love purple eyeshadow, especially with the smokey effect. since i have caramel skin tone, I really love the darker shades.

Personally I've never been very into light/bright colors of any kind of eyes. I think a lot of the time it can just look like a 12 yr old got into her mother's makeup, esp pastel shades of purple.

I'm wearing purple eyeshadow right now. :) It's pretty light though, but now I'm tempted to try some darker shades.

Audrina and Selita look amazing, but January and Katie look like they have eye infections. Katie's application looks sloppy...January's eye make up would look better on Katie.

Purples are my favorite shades to wear to bring out my green eyes...I love lavenders, plums, and eggplants. And I'm never without my plum-colored liquid liner.
