With a collection that toyed so effortlessly with masculine and feminine silhouettes, it was only natural that the beauty look at Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2014 show would also have influences from both sexes. Hair by Jeanie Syfu for Tresemmé focused on a sleek blowout that was then deconstructed and pulled into a low ponytail. Wispy pieces around the face added a touch of whimsy. If models' hair was too short for a pony, Syfu kept the hair sleek and straight and the blowout intact.
Lips were the main draw of the beauty look. Lead makeup artist Sarah Lucero for Stila layered on Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip Color in Amore ($22) for a statement pout and then added on bold brows. To offset any masculinity, models' skin was kept flawless and glowing, with pink cheeks and a touch of rose on the eyelids.
Nails also mixed the masculine with the feminine, starting with two coats of Essie Bahama Mama ($9) and then a swipe of Essie Midnight Cami ($9) for a french tip. "Never skip your base coat, especially when you're using a red," lead manicurist Michelle Saunders for Essie said. "It will keep your color from bleeding into your cuticle."
