Reviews of New Summer Perfumes

People who like Alien are a very particular group (and I'm among them, so I should know). You have to love — or at least not dislike — licorice, and be happy to wear slightly oily, vaguely static-y, and wholly unnatural scents. Think about pairing that, then, with a mysterious "solar accord" which, to me, mostly smells like warm redwood decking.

The result? Alien Sunessence ($80). It's not at all a natural combination, but then again, nothing about Alien is of this world, so it all works out. I still don't know what to think of it, but if you're obsessed with Alien and want something a little warmer and more festive, you might want to check this one out.
