Love It or Hate It? SMG's Feisty NYC Makeup

PopSugar called it when she said that SMG looked feisty on Monday night at the Vaseline Skin Is Amazing event with her tightly pulled-back hair. Sarah Michelle has been getting a lot of props lately, especially when she stepped out in pretty plaits at the The Air I Breathe premiere. (I have a how-to coming up for you, straight from her stylist, so hold tight for that.)

This time around, I'm not so sure about Sarah's makeup. This dramatic eye paired with a chalky pale pink pout might be pretty for fashion runways, but I think it distracts from her natural beauty. Do you think this smouldering look works for SMG, or is it one of her rare missteps?

Some people can't pull off very dramatic eyes. She's one of them. That, and she kind of looks like she got into a bad runny-mascara accident.

Actually, I know what it is...it's bringing back painful mall makeover memories when the lady did "flapper" makeup on me! My boyfriend and I ate in a full mall cafeteria. Boy, did I get the looks! Thank God he married me anyway.

It beckons bad 60s-70s makeup...not quite mod or Twiggy teetering on decadent. Except for her lips, the look is too much. Reminds me of the photo spreads where you see the early career mistakes and the latter refinement. Or, the bad grade/high school friend makeover.

I know a few of you like her lipstick. If you want something in a similar shade, the N collection from MAC has some good matches. I have been wearing 3N, which has just a slight bit more pink in it. I like it a lot.
