i like it better straight, but i think the essence of Carrie Bradshaw is long, unmanageable, curly hair. quite symbolic maybe?

Definitely curly - it's such a beautiful and less common attribute; everyone has straight, medium length hair. But she stands out more with a long mane of soft curls.
