Should Women Pay More For a Haircut Than Men?

An equality organization in Finland is attempting to fine salons for discriminatory prices in haircuts between men and women. And I, for one, am all for it! I pay $65 for a simple haircut when some of my male friends pay up to $30 less. According to the proposal, prices can vary depending on how much time the client is in the chair and how much product is used in her—or his—hair.

In my opinion, that makes complete sense. The price should be determined by the length of the hair and the difficulty of the procedure, not by gender. It's doubtful that such a strict restriction would ever be implemented in the United States, but it begs the question: Should women pay more for a haircut than men?
