This Pantone Art Project Will Change the Way You See Skin Color

Jul 4 2014 - 9:00am

Beauty comes in every color — no matter your ethnicity, cultural heritage, or where you call home. No two of your neighbors are exactly alike. So when we discovered Brazilian artist Angélica Dass's project Humanae [1], we were moved by the beauty of so many very different-looking individuals.

Her photo project captures the true range of human skin color using the Pantone [2] color system. She took a series of portraits in which women and men of all ages were placed in front of a background that was dyed to match their exact complexion. Scroll through to see the beautiful rainbow of skin, and take a moment to reflect on the truly limitless range of beauty that exists around us every day.
