This Snake Wants to Slither in Your Shower

Help me, couch potatoes, because I don't watch enough TV to know if this commercial is running on the airwaves. This spot for the BodySnake has all of the corny parts of a regular infomercial, but I kinda refuse to believe that it's real. (I just find it hard to believe that there's that much demand for a step-in foot scrubber.) Then again, the BodySnake does let you "safely reach between your legs," although that sounds dirty to my prurient mind. I could see this product working for immobile people who have a hard time cleaning themselves, but I'm still not convinced that it's real. What do you think — does the BodySnake exist? And is it just for the spectacularly lazy, or is it a helpful tool?

I agree, showering together is the best way to get the hard to reach places on your back. And it saves water too.

I was laying in bed the other night, falling asleep, and this infomercial came on. I was too lazy to open my eyes but from hearing the description I remember thinking "I wonder what this could possibly look like." and now I now. And am sorely disappointed!

Totally bizarre! But if you could bear to stop laughing and look closely enough, all of the people in the infomercial were... uummm, significantly overweight. Maybe it really helps?????

I hate to say it, but my boyfriend would love the snake. He's always complaining about not being able to exfoliate his back fully by himself. Don't worry, he's perfectly lean and athletic. Margo - you found the snake in stores? Where?

Advah, you are going to give me nightmares. That book sounds terrifying. My roommate told me about some plane with baby pythons that escaped. It really was Snakes on a Plane. Yikes. I thought of you. BTW, Venjen is just asking for me to send her a set of Hercules Hooks for *her* birthday.

The dude in the beginning is hilarious. I'm fairly sure it's real...I've seen Body Snake-like products in the stores...the foot scrubber I wasn't so sure about. But people will make ANYTHING these days [hello, ShamWow!] for money...lol.

Bella, ever read Romain Gary/Emile Ajar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romain_Gary)'s Gros-Câlin? Beautiful, moving book, but about the story of a guy whose pet python escapes through bathroom pipes and ends up in his neighbour's toilet. Even more scarring was that story a couple of years ago of that guy who found his neighbour's pet snake (again, crazy neighbours) in his bathtub. I'm scarred. Funny how I can never remember to return my books to the library in time, but I sure remember every single snake-related story I've heard heh! Oh, and you can blame your next nightmare on me. :P
