Splurge of the Week: Chanel Moscow Collection

In Russia, Chanel polish nails you! Earlier this month, Karl Lagerfeld presented his pre-fall Paris-Moscow collection, with models sporting a new twist on dark polish. The clothing won't be available for another six months or so, but the three moodily alluring lacquer shades ($30 each) are available now.

The base of each polish is black, but they have a hint of color thanks to red, gold, and blue sparkles that reflect light. So nebulous, so chic, and so on my wish list. Are you listening, Santa?

I want the gold! I get these in my native russia for some scarce rubles without dropping the Chanel name. Yet...prestige is everything and what's in product but a product, a name, and a face? I might just splurge my way into one of these...for the sake of a conversation piece.

They are gorgeous, but that's a bit too expensive for a nailpolish that no doubt contains toluene and DBP.

Way too much money for a product that has been around for awhile now, just in different brands. I can't think of the brand off the top of my head, but I have black based nail polish with red, blue and gold hints mixed in.

I like the idea of Chanel nail polish, but the last time i bought one, it wreaked havoc on my nails...I think it is too strong for me, but as always, they were nice enough to let me return.

pretty but not colors i would ever wear. the blue one looks like a repeat of night sky? that chanel did years ago (which i still have and is still like new!-a testament to chanel quality).

That gold polish is BEAUTIFUL. But... Chanel is one of those brands that remains just beyond the horizon of what I consider "reasonable" prices for cosmetics. But it's so prettyyyyyy.... *le sigh*

I must say I've been into nail polishes lately, but damn! $30 each? Hell to the naw, I wouldn't pay for this polish. Just continue to give me my Sally Hansen and nobody gets hurt! lol

I swatched all of these for my blog and att first I really liked them but now I think they are just "meh". I really don't think they are that great for $30 bucks each. There are plenty of great alternatives for under $5 bucks. China Glaze Wagon Trail is a great alternative to Or de Russie. I wish I would have saved my money.

Funny, just bought one just like that. It looks either black or navy blue in flat light, but in the sunshine you can see specks of ruby- so pretty. Cheaper alternative: Try Sally Hansen in Glossy--about 5 dollars. :)
