This Ad Campaign Will Change the Way You Look in the Mirror

Over the last few years, something magical has been happening in the beauty industry: the average woman is taking the spotlight (wrinkles, dark spots, frizzy hair, and all). Magazines are being called out for Photoshop flubs, the median age of brand spokeswomen is now 40 instead of 25, and social media is embracing the #nomakeup movement. In a time when selfies rule, women are no longer looking to media to set the ideal, but rather themselves. A new campaign called Stop the Beauty Madness is encouraging that self-love.

"It is not always pretty to see what is hidden deep in our psyche (or even just slightly under the surface), but it is important to see it clearly so that we may call it out and change it," the site explains. "In this new world, our beauty is defined by whole-self qualities, not eye-to-nose and bust-to-waist-to-hip ratios. In this world, we know we are more than our appearance, our size, and our shape. In this world, we are throwing off our role as sales-hypnotized consumers and getting on with the task of changing the world."

Stop focusing on the outside and start focusing on the inside? That's a lesson all women can learn, whether they're 10 or 110. Spread the word by sharing this story with the hashtag #StopTheBeautyMadness.Source: Facebook user Stop The Beauty Madness
