The mythos surrounding La Mer's much-adored "Miracle Broth" is the stuff of beauty industry legend. Twice a year, the company harvests a rare Pacific Ocean kelp, then packs it fresh on ice to its labs. There, it's combined with other ingredients to undergo the company's "biofermentation" process, which uses sound waves and pulsed light to cure the ingredients into broth over a three- to four-month period.
