These bold blue Stella McCartney cat-eye shades ($225) feel so summery. Go all the way by pairing them with a nearly neon lipstick like Illamasqua in Luster ($28).

These chic and subtle Chanel sunglasses ($650) are even classier when you notice there's a rim of pearls placed behind the upper frame. For such a timeless look, Sonia Kashuk's Red Orange lip color ($10) is the way to go.

There's absolutely nothing subtle about these black-and-white Nasty Gal frames (similar style: Nasty Gal CRAP Eyewear Diamond Brunch Shades, $62). A nude lip would be too demure, but a hot pink or bold red might feel too over the top. Meet in the middle with a matte coral like Givenchy Le Rouge in Croisière Coral (similar style: Givenchy Le Rouge in Corail Décolleté, $36).

Big frames don't have to be overwhelming. Shop for a pair that isn't wider than your face for a flattering fit. The cool tones in these BCBG ombré sunglasses (similar style: BCBG Axazria 56mm Sunglasses, $109) pair perfectly with a bright purple lipstick such as MAC's Midnight Mambo ($65).

Love brightly colored sunglasses but afraid to go all the way? Try a vivid hue on just the upper rim like on this red-and-black pair from Coach (similar styles: Coach sunglasses). To play off the colored frames, we paired the look with a matching lipstick: Tom Ford's Wild Ginger ($49).

Not for the faint of heart, this geometric Miu Miu option is covered in petal-pink suede (similar style: Miu Miu 'Culte Collection' 57 mm Geometric Sunglasses, $340). To balance the color, texture, and shape, go for a neutral lip color like BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Be Free ($18).

If round frames never look quite right on you, then try a relaxed rectangle like Warby Parker's Thatcher in Walnut Tortoise ($95). The neutral palette calls for a nude lip, so we went with By Terry Sheer Rouge in Nudissimo ($35).

Retro round frames in a camel shade, like on this Burberry pair ($200), go best with a classic lipstick. We coupled the chic style with Chanel Rouge Coco in Amant ($35).

The wayfarer ($175) gets done over time and time again, and Tory Burch updated the silhouette with a bright orange print. Not to compete with the graphic frames, we paired them with Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Juicy Melons ($22), a soft coral lipstick.

We're all about mirrored sunglasses, especially with cool clear legs and frames like on this pair ($153) from celeb-favorite Westward Leaning. The blue in the reflective lenses looks best with a contrasting lip color like MAC Neon Orange lipstick ($16).

If trendy frames aren't quite your thing, then wire rims like on this DKNY pair ($99) are a timeless choice. The rosy, satiny Nars Lipstick in Tolede ($26) is just as classic.
